A. Issue
Request by the Engineering Division for approval of plans and specifications for Contract 26-08 / Project 1024, 2026 Center Street Improvements. Project limits are on Center Street from 111th Street to N. 118th Street.
B. Background/Options
Engineering has prepared the attached plans and specifications for roadway and pedestrian facilities and communications within the project limits. The western driveway entrance to the schools will be realigned to match into the intersection with N. 116th Street. The work is planned for the 2026 construction season.
The project will complete the road work that was associated with the underground utility installations in the summers of 2024 & 2025. The contractor that was hired last year failed to finish the project and were put on notice. They were able to complete the storm sewer and water main work within the project limits, as well as the curb and gutter, sidewalk and curb ramps on the south side of the road but unable to complete work on the north side and final paving with respect to the School District's schedule.

D. Fiscal Impact
The project is included in the approved 2024-2028 Capital Budget.
