A.                     Issue

Requesting written approval for Scott Construction to store construction vehicles in the City Hall parking lot overnight the week of July 29, 2024, pending weather.

B.                     Background/Options

Scott Construction is the City’s sealcoating contractor this year. The work is planned for the week of July 29th, 2024, pending weather, and will take place in the Ravenswood, Glenview Heights and Greenwood Estates neighborhoods, as well as the area bounded by North Ave to the north, Wauwatosa Ave to the east and Menomonee River Parkway to the south and west.

The large oil tank will be held at the DPW Yard with an executed Hold Harmless Agreement, but it would be more efficient for them to park trucks and the street roller closer the job sites. City Hall is in one of the work areas. Operations are allowed from 7:00am to 7:00pm, so the vehicles would be parked in the lot from 7:00pm to 7:00am. It is suggested they park near the south and west sides of the lot.

Scott Construction has work with us for several years and staff supports this parking request. In accordance with Section 11.34.010 of the City Code, we request written permission from the Board of Public Works for the use of the City Hall parking lot.
