A. Issue: Engineering is recommending award of City Contract 23-90 / Project 2402 - 2023 City Fiber Communications.
B. Background & Discussion: The project consists of installing conduit, fiber optic cable, and handholes from the Police Station south and east back to City Hall to create a full loop of fiber communications. Additional fiber will be extended along Mayfair Road to Fire Station 52 and in the vicinity of Madison School in the northeast corner of the City. The project will also install handholes in locations where previously installed conduits throughout the City are stubbed out in the street terrace areas. The conduit, fiber optic cable, and handholes were previously purchased by the City as part of a Fiber Infrastructure Materials RFP process in March of 2023.
We have examined the bids submitted for Contract 23-90 / Project 2402 - 2023 City Fiber Communications on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. The bid received is as follows;

D. Fiscal Impact: Project funds have been included in the approved 2023-2027 Capital Budget.
E. Recommendations: We recommend the award be made to CableCom at and for their bid price of $417,001.00 this being the lowest and best bid.
