B. Background/Options

After sampling, the borehole will be converted to a monitoring well. The purpose of the well is sample the soil and groundwater to delineate the extent of contamination from a former gasoline station. The location of the soil boring/monitoring well is shown on the attached exhibit. The length of time that the proposed well will be in place will be dependent on the monitoring results and WDNR’s requirements for monitoring. It is anticipated that the well will likely be present for monitoring between 1 to 2 years.
The applicant will be required to apply for separate Street Occupancy permits for well installation and well abandonment. Any soils that are removed during well installation must be disposed of properly. The final locations of the wells to be determined and approved in the field after all of the Diggers Hotline tickets have cleared.
