Resolution approving an agreement between the City of Wauwatosa and City of Wauwatosa VFW Post 1465 for the construction and dedication of a Veterans Memorial located on City-owned land at Harwood Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue

WHEREAS, representatives of Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts 1465, 6498, and 8320 have worked with the City to identify a location for a Veterans Memorial in Wauwatosa; and
WHEREAS, the City-owned property at the western corner of Harwood Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue has been identified as the proposed location for the Veterans Memorial; and
WHEREAS, the proposed agreement provides that the veterans group will fund and construct the memorial project, subject to required City approvals, and that upon completion to the City’s satisfaction the memorial will be dedicated to the City for ownership and maintenance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Wauwatosa that the agreement between the City of Wauwatosa and City of Wauwatosa VFW Post 1465 for the construction and dedication of a Veterans Memorial located on City-owned land at Harwood Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue is hereby approved, and the proper City officials are authorized to execute the agreement and related documents.
