A. Issue
Illegal parking in proximity to the fire hydrant abutting 2336 N. 84th Street
B. Background/Options
State Statute 346.53 prohibits parking within 10-feet of a fire hydrant and 4-feet of the entrance to a driveway. A fire hydrant abuts the property at 2336 N. 84th Street in such a manner that there is only an 8-foot distance for vehicles to park. Motorists attempt to park their vehicles in this short space by partially blocking the driveway at 2336 N. 84th Street and/or by parking too close to the fire hydrant.
Staff recommends a no parking prohibition on the east side of 84th Street from the driveway at 2336 N. 84th Street to the driveway at 2344 N. 84th Street.

D. Fiscal Impact
Minor expenses for the installation of signs. The existing sign budget will accommodate these expenses.
E. Recommendation
Direct staff to prepare an ordinance to prohibit parking on the east side of 84th Street from the driveway at 2336 N. 84th Street to the driveway at 2344 N. 84th Street.
