Resolution authorizing a memorandum of understanding with Ducks Unlimited for wetland restoration at Firefly Grove Park

WHEREAS, City staff, Ducks Unlimited, and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District have agreed in principle to a project to restore and conserve approximately 1.75 acres of wetland along the eastern edge of Firefly Grove Park; and
WHEREAS, the restoration work is intended to improve wetland function, wildlife habitat, and water quality while allowing the wetland area to continue serving its stormwater drainage purpose; and
WHEREAS, the project budget is anticipated to be funded through grants and in-kind contributions with no anticipated fiscal impact to the City at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Ducks Unlimited for the restoration and conservation of an approximately 1.75-acre wetland complex at Firefly Grove Park.
