Background/Options
The City of Wauwatosa is entering into an agreement with the City of Milwaukee for roadway, recreational trail, utility, and related traffic control facilities along W. Wisconsin Avenue in order to construct a Recreational Trail on the north side of Wisconsin Avenue within the Milwaukee corporate limits. The section of trail in the City of Milwaukee is part of the larger Wisconsin Avenue Multi-Use Path project that will be constructed from Research Drive to Honey Creek Parkway.
Within the Milwaukee corporate limits, the project will consist of removal and replacement of 5-foot concrete sidewalk with construction of a 10-foot wide asphalt recreational trail, removal and replacement of ADA compliant crosswalks across Wisconsin Avenue on the east side of 94th Street, 90th Street, and 89th Streets, a rectangular rapid flashing beacon at 89th Street, spot replacement of curb and gutter, installation of new pavement markings, and existing underground utility adjustments.
The City of Wauwatosa will pay the entire cost of constructing the facilities.
