Resolution approving a professional services agreement with MSA Professional Service, Inc. for design engineering of the Jackson Park Boulevard Storm Outfall (CIP Project 4104) in an amount not to exceed $89,799

WHEREAS, the City's Capital Improvements Program includes the Jackson Park Boulevard Storm Outfall project (CIP Project 4104); and
WHEREAS, during design of the North Avenue reconstruction project from the Menomonee River to N. 80th Street, the City determined that the existing 30-inch corrugated metal pipe storm outfall discharging to the Menomonee River south of North Avenue is structurally deteriorated and hydraulically undersized to meet current City design standards; and
WHEREAS, the City evaluated alternative outfall locations in coordination with Milwaukee County Parks and identified a preferred location along Menomonee River Parkway at Jackson Park Boulevard extended; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvements include construction of a new 60-inch storm sewer outfall, while a smaller portion of the watershed will continue to discharge through the existing 30-inch outfall; and
WHEREAS, the City completed a request for proposals process for design assistance for the outfall, including structural design and streambank restoration along the Menomonee River, and recommends award to MSA Professional Service, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, funds for this work are included in the Capital Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to enter into a professional services agreement with MSA Professional Service, Inc. for design engineering services for the Jackson Park Blvd Storm Outfall (CIP Project 4104) in an amount not to exceed $89,799.
