Ordinance amending various Sections of Chapter 7.50 of the Wauwatosa Municipal Code related to special events

The Common Council of the City of Wauwatosa do hereby ordain as follows:
Part I. Section 7.50.010 of the Wauwatosa Municipal Code is amended by adding the following:
"The city will also consider the frequency that run/walks reoccur in specific neighborhoods and will limit approvals based on resident and neighborhood impact."
Part II. Section 7.50.020 of the Wauwatosa Municipal Code is amended by adding the following to the "Extraordinary services" definition:
"The city will not approve events that result in an undue burden on the wellbeing of public safety or other city employees due to limiting off-time or requiring overly long work days multiple days or weeks in a row."
Part III. Section 7.50.020 of the Wauwatosa Municipal Code is amended by adding the following definition:
"Neighborhood" means the surrounding area whose residents and property owners could reasonably be expected to experience effects from the event.
Part IV. Subsection 7.50.040(A) of the Wauwatosa Municipal Code is amended in its entirety to read as follows:
"Completed written applications for a special event permit along with the application fee shall be filed with the city clerk. Applications shall be on the form approved by the city and signed by the person or authorized representative(s) of the entity organizing the special event. Applications may be filed no earlier than one year prior to the event date and shall be submitted no later than 90 days prior to the event date. The City shall approve, approve with conditions, or deny a complete application no later than 30 days prior to the event date."
Part V. Subsection 7.50.040(E)(3) is hereby repealed in its entirety.
