Resolution approving worker’s compensation settlements for Carly Roy and Joseph Mensah

WHEREAS, the City has tentatively settled two worker’s compensation matters; and
WHEREAS, the first settlement, a claim filed by Carly Roy, fully resolves a worker’s compensation claim for $200,000 with no potential further claim liability; and
WHEREAS, the second settlement, a claim filed by Joseph Mensah, fully resolves a worker’s compensation claim for $95,000 with no potential further claim liability for that worker’s compensation claim, while the related Duty Disability claim remains open and subject to all defenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Wauwatosa that the two worker’s compensation settlements in the amounts of $200,000 and $95,000 are hereby approved.

The Common Council may convene in closed session regarding this item pursuant to Wis. Stat. §19.85 (1)(g), to confer with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved. The Common Council may reconvene into open session to consider any action discussed in closed session and/or the balance of the agenda.
