A. Issue
The applicant has requested to encroach within the City right-of-way with a sign for a commercial business located at 6517 W. North Avenue.
B. Background/Options
According to City records, the right-of-way line at 6517 W. North Avenue is at the building face. On page two of the attached plans, the proposed sign will be attached to the building and project 30 inches into the right-of-way. The bottom of the sign will be located 9 feet, 10 inches above the sidewalk surface. Per City Code 12.08, at least 8 feet must be provided for sidewalk clearance. An encroachment agreement must be fully executed prior to Permanent Sign Permit issuance.
