Resolution authorizing a pilot overnight parking permit program

WHEREAS, the City's overnight parking restrictions may create hardships for certain residents who do not have reasonable access to off-street parking; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council desires to consider a limited hardship exemption process for qualifying residents based on demonstrated need; and
WHEREAS, City staff have identified the need to develop eligibility criteria, an application and verification process, administrative procedures, and operational review by multiple departments before such a program could be implemented;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Wauwatosa that the appropriate City departments are directed to prepare and return with recommendations establishing an overnight parking hardship exemption process, including eligibility requirements, application and verification procedures, administrative processes, and any other implementation measures necessary for Common Council consideration.
