Resolution authorizing a pilot overnight parking permit program

WHEREAS, the City’s overnight parking restrictions may disproportionately burden residents who lack off-street parking options; and
WHEREAS, the proposed pilot program is intended to provide a permit-based alternative for verified residents within a limited area who can demonstrate a lack of off-street parking; and
WHEREAS, City staff identified the need for an ordinance, an application and verification process, payment integration, and operational review by multiple departments before implementation; and
WHEREAS, requiring written disclosure by landlords regarding the availability of off-street parking would improve transparency for prospective renters;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Wauwatosa that the appropriate City departments are directed to prepare and return with the ordinances, program terms, pilot area boundaries, eligibility requirements, administrative process, permit fee structure, landlord disclosure requirements, and other implementation measures necessary to establish a pilot overnight parking permit program for residents lacking off-street parking options.
