Award of Contract 24-55 Burleigh Water Tower Rehabilitation

 

B.                     Background/Options 

The City’s largest water tower is in need of minor rehabilitation work as well as painting which will include an overcoat of the exterior of the tower as well as a sandblast and new coating of the interior of the tower. 

 

We have examined the 9 bids that were submitted for Contract 24-55 Burleigh Water Tower Rehabilitation on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024.  The bids received are as follows:

The low bidder is prequalified to bid in Wauwatosa and the City’s consultant, Dixon Engineering, has had good experience working with the company on past projects.

D.                     Fiscal Impact

The low bid is well below the project budget with a total expected project cost of $1,100,000, which will be nearly $600,000 below budget. 

 

E.                     Recommendation

For Contract 24-55, Burleigh Water Tower Rehabilitation, I recommend award O&J Coatings, Inc, for their bid price of $986,000.00, this being the lowest and best bid.
